U17 Tournament Format & Rules
A world-class international platform designed for top Under-17 cricket talent competing in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
1. Tournament Format
Teams are split into multi-nation groups for round-robin fixtures followed by knockout semi-finals and the grand final under floodlights at R. Premadasa International Stadium.
2. Iconic Colombo Venues
Matches are staged on first-class turf pitches including R. Premadasa Stadium, NCC Grounds, CCC Grounds, and Surrey Village, complete with sight screens and electronic scoring.
3. Rules & ICC Playing Conditions
Strict adherence to ICC Youth Playing Regulations, official leather white balls, powerplay restrictions, and professional umpire appointments for every match.
4. Eligibility & Squad Limits
Players must be born on or after the official U17 cutoff date. Passport or official birth certificate verification is mandatory prior to squad registration.
5. Scouting & Player Awards
Player of the Match, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Most Valuable Player trophies are awarded along with comprehensive scout evaluation reports.
6. Schedule & Dates
The 14-day schedule includes team arrival, pitch orientation, opening ceremony, match days with built-in rest and recovery days, and a closing awards banquet.
